ART 444 Design for the Internet

Course Description: Topics include Web standards, CSS, advanced scripting, and experimental applications. Maximum credit six units. This class will emphasize the "process" of effective and efficient solutions to Internet Web design. Students will explore each stage of the process while developing his or her own style and approach to problem solving. Students will learn: Fundamentals of HTML5 (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), Responsive Web Design, PHP basics, Word Press, media acquisition, digitizing media, adding interactivity, and navigation (interface) design. This course also covers formats for display through various presentation platforms, and the basics of network protocol. Software Tools include: Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator.

Maximum credit six units. Students may re-enroll in this course after earning a grade of C or higher (or Cr) for a maximum of six units. Copy of transcript required. (Formerly numbered Art 344b.). Open to Art / Graphic Design, Multimedia (10021, 10091, 06991) Majors Only.

Proof of Grade of C or Better in Art344 Design for the Internet 1 is required.
